 DAY OF THE “FIELES DIFUNTOS”

It is the 1stand 2nd of November…

The tradition of the family of Jujuy is to wait for the souls:

         First, the family bakes the salty ,sweet and differently  shaped bread, this bread is called  “Ofrendas” .

The table is prepared by the hole family. In the table you can find “Ofrendas” , candles , drinks, sweets ,flowers and photographs of the dead members of the family .

The family remembers the souls of the loving ones and pray  . The souls  have fun or play all night .Other family members and friends   visit  the house . The family prepares food for the souls . Some people prepare lunch around the “Ofrendas” table .

The family proceeds to say goodbye to the souls . The family takes the “ofrendas out of the table . The family shares everything that is on the table. On November 2nd the souls say goodbye up to  next year .
